This is a short animation that I created in our After Effects workshop, the workshop was an introductory to using After Effects. We learnt how to create simple shapes and how to make them move across the screen, rotate, dissolve, enlarge and shrink. In this little edit I included all of the effects at least once. I am not sure why the movements judder a little nor am I sure why it's a bit pixelated in places. I think it may have something to do with the settings and format at which I exported it. Next time I have the workshop, I'll see if it does it again and if it does I shall ask why. Although this may not come in use for my music video it is a useful thing to know how to do and is a piece of software which can be very useful.

Editing Experiment
These are experiments with editing I did to find out how to create the effects. I chose these ones as they're most likely the ones I'll use in my music video. I included print screens to show people how to do it and also as a reminder for myself if I forget. I feel more confident with Premier-Pro after doing this, as now when the time comes I wont have to waste time finding out how to (for example) turn a piece of footage black and white. The last effect, ghosting, was more of an experiment as I didn't plan on using this, however if I feel it works really well I may use it. Black and white will be used on the shots of the model's 'acting as a couple' as this is a memory, black and white is often used to show it's in the past. A title will be added at the beginning to state the song and artist, which I will fade onto the first shot.

Green Screen
Our class split into two groups so we could all experience the green screen. This is a screen shot of my group during our green screen workshop. Unfortunately the technician only recorded the part where we were talking to our tutor. However, the experience was still useful as I feel more comfortable about using the green screen if I wanted to. For the green screen pretty much anything is possible as long as you can get an image which works and then incorporate the lighting to make it realistic. It would have been interesting if one of us had worn a green t-shirt, as then we could see what it would look like to have a person who had an area of transparency. This would occur because the t-shirt is obviously green along with the green screen, and the computer recognises this as the colour to make transparent. The computer works in green, red, and blue, but red couldn't be used as we have red in our skin tone so it was blue and green. The green screen was originally a blue screen but then blue jeans became increasingly common, making green the only option. Even though I'm not using a green screen in my music video, I found the workshop useful.

Mood Board
This is a mood board I put together to help me with inspiration for my model's style and to hopefully help with the selection of locations and props.
